Pomfort has introduced ClipHouse, its new software for developing RAW CinemaDNG and Magic Lantern files.
Working with this application is divided into four simple steps that allow an efficient workflow to take full advantage of the quality offered by RAW images.
Copy
The Copy window is the first window to be accessed in the interface. Thanks to it we will be able to copy clips from the camera cards to multiple destinations and obtain a backup copy verified with Checksum that will inform us when this process is totally or partially completed.
Manage
The next step is to enjoy native playback of our recordings and clip organization.
Color
ClipHouse has several settings for modifying the color and luminance of RAW images. It offers controls for exposure, temperature, tint (with the possibility of discriminating between highlights and lowlights), contrast, saturation and even a sharpen filter.
Export
This is probably the tab that needs the most development. It is designed to create files that can be sent for editing, although it only exports QuickTime in H.264 and the entire Apple ProRes codec family.
On the one hand, H.264 is not a recommended format for editing (due to the type of compression it uses), and on the other hand, it would be good to include the DNxHD family in addition to ProRes for editing on Avid systems.
The export options allow you to directly select a preset or make custom settings, mark in and out points on clips or schedule multiple simultaneous tasks with background processing.
The cameras supported by ClipHouse are:
- Blackmagic Cinema and Pocket Cinema Camera (BMCC, BMPCC)
- KineRAW S35 and Mini
- Digital Bolex D16
- Ikonoskop A-Cam
- Indiecam GS2K
- Canon DSLR with Magic Lantern
The new Pomfort software is priced at 39€ per year or 99€ for a permanent license. From this link you can download the 14-day trial version or purchase it directly, which requires Mac OS X version 10.7.5 (or higher).
