Alfonso Parra Redondo. Director of Photography AEC, ADFC.

He began his professional career in 1984 as an assistant cameraman, assistant, second operator and since 1993 as Director of Photography. His photographic work has focused especially on documentaries, TV series and fiction feature films, among others: “Summer Clouds”, “The Bolshevik’s weakness”, “Paisito”, “The bicycle”, “The game of Cuba”, “Eloxio da distancia”, “Pambelé” or “The Law of the Heart”, paying special interest to new digital technologies both in production and post-production.

Presentation CINEMA EOS C700:

The new Canon C700 camera will be shown from the point of view of the director of photography, focusing on the fundamental aspects of digital image quality such as resolution, dynamic range, noise, sensitivity and color. On the other hand, the more subjective assessments of the participants who collaborated in the tests, such as cinematographers, assistants and post-production personnel, will be considered. The analysis of the different camera tests has been carried out on both theoretical and practical considerations, as they have been shot from letters and multi-exposure strips to the handlooms of Cucunubá or its coal mines at a depth of over 300 meters.

Luis Ochoa. DI colorist and 4K HDR workflow designer.

He works internationally color grading feature films, TV series and commercials. His professional experience in cinematography and film editing has given him a global vision of the technical process of audiovisual creation, which he uses when designing workflows. He is an expert in 4K HDR monitors. Examples of his work and reel can be found on his personal website and IMDB page.

Presentation HDR and Canon DP-V2410 Monitor:

The new HDR in video represents a complete paradigm shift in the creation of moving images. For the first time in the history of audiovisual we will be able to see much higher contrast levels in the representation systems: monitors and projectors. This translates into images with greater depth and realism, beyond a simple increase in brightness. This evolution poses technical challenges and offers incredible artistic tools in the creation of images, both in capture and post-production, and requires adjustments in production models and workflow. Current techniques and standards will be explained in a simple but precise way, and captured and graded images in high dynamic range will be shown. This advance will be discussed in the only way possible: by viewing HDR images on an HDR monitor.
