Red Giant acquires the products of Singular Software

Red Giant announced a few days ago the acquisition of all Singular Software products, as well as its intellectual property and related technology.

Singular Software products are used to automatically synchronize audio and video. Among those that will now be part of Red Giant are PluralEyes (which we wrote about in this article), primarily for synchronizing multi-cameras; DualEyes, which automatically replaces camera audio with separately recorded audio; CloudEyes, a set of synchronization services available in “the cloud”; and Presto, capable of automatically creating video presentations by combining several elements.

The main tool they will continue to focus on is PluralEyes, which is also in its final stage of development of version 3.0, and can be used on Final Cut Pro, Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere Pro, Edius and Vegas Pro.

The founders of Red Giant (created in 2002 by Andrew Little and Sean Safreed) realized that they shared a vision and culture about audiovisual production, and that both are interested in developing products to avoid certain tedious tasks that prevent publishers from focusing on the creative side.

This is one of the main features of PluralEyes 3.0, so they will be integrating it into Magic Bullet Looks and will continue to release support for other systems, both Windows and Mac. The new version is scheduled for release (with Mac support) this summer.

Until autumn, all Singular Software products can still be purchased from the original location; but during this quarter (before the end of September) all sales and support will move to Red Giant. Even so, the collaboration of these two companies also means that they will bring the entire Singular Software team with them without alterations, in order to be able to continue to fulfill the development of their products.
