SGO Mistika 8.2 and 8.4

During the past few days at IBC, SGO released version 8.2 of Mistika software and showed v8.4, which focuses on support for 4K and Ultra HD, HFR (High Frame Rate) and HDR (High Dynamic Range).

Mistika v8.2

With the arrival of this update we have been able to appreciate a change with respect to the announced features, and it is that the support for AAF has not finally appeared in version 8.2. The company says that they are still working with Avid to integrate AAF into the Mistika workflow.

Probably the most outstanding innovation has been the “Spatial Isolation” toolset, which allows to manipulate multilayer EXR sequences in different ways. Thanks to it, it is possible to separate objects within a 3D scene using the information encoded in each layer of the EXR images, thus being able to adjust light, depth of field or color attributes in independent objects.

In this page you will find an extended explanation about the Spatial Isolation Toolset.

When version 8.4 arrives, we will see expanded support for OpenEXR 2.2, including SXR and MXR formats. Optimization for faster playback and support for Precision controllers will also be added as part of the OEM partnership with Digital Vision.

Controllers can already be ordered for delivery with version 8.4. The latest storage options introduced at NAB, such as the HP Z820 workstation with 12 internal disks of 1 TB each, can also be ordered now.

Mamba FX 2.0

In addition, SGO has announced that its Mamba FX 2.0 VFX software includes most of the features available in Mistika 8.2.
