SGO releases Mistika Ultima 8.8, adding Apple ProRes and enhancing collaborative workflows

The latest version of the Hero Suite “Mistika Ultima”, from the Spanish company SGO, aims to establish itself as the total workflow and finishing system solution, with new features, tools and improvements in program performance, highlighting new processes for HDR workflows.

There is also support for the latest hardware developments, such as AJA Kona 5 audio and video I/O cards, Tangent’ s color correction control panels and SGO’s new storage solutions that are highly optimized for their software.

To meet the efficiency demands of today’s post production industry, the new version of Mistika Ultima provides a significant performance boost by accelerating rendering by up to ten times, thanks to software optimization and NVIDIA hardware rendering support.

The playback speed of industry-specific formats has also been improved, enabling real-time UHD 8K interactivity at 60 fps. Official Apple ProRes support has been added, allowing users to work with and create ProRes media significantly faster than before and at the highest quality available. The scope of professional format support is now even broader, including the latest ARRI, RED and Canon SDKs.

Among the new features to be highlighted in this version is the inclusion of immersive tools for the creation of 360º/VR content, making it compatible with Mistika VR, SGO’s stitching software. This considerably decreases rendering time by allowing Mistika Ultima to share only the metadata of a project and thus increase efficiency when creating 360º/VR content.

With the use of the new hardware, Mistika Technology and SGO storage configuration, Mistika Ultima offers an 8K UHD workflow at 60fps, even with uncompressed formats. Real-time capture and playback at 8K 60fps is also possible through the use of Panasonic’s latest 8K recorder. These developments are of notable relevance to customers involved in film or other complex projects working with very high resolutions and frame rates.
