We are already close to NAB, the Las Vegas trade show that will take place between April 16 and 21 where manufacturers from around the world will present their latest developments related to the audiovisual world.
Among these manufacturers is SGO, the Spanish developer of Mistika software, which will show during these days the next version 8.7. This update enters with a strong footprint in two of the workflows that are currently being implemented, virtual reality (VR) and HDR (High Dynamic Range).
SGO plans to be one of the pioneers in VR, including in its system sets of tools that enable compositing in virtual reality, along with color correction, HDR and stereo.
Mistika version 8.7 will feature the following enhancements:
- For HDR work, a “Fourth Ball” system is added.
- Unicolour” technology, which allows switching between source, working and output color spaces. These include: linear, SMPTE 2084, Hybrid Log Gamma and many more.
- UniversalKeyingarchitecture, to provide colorists and compositors access to the same selection tools between: HSL, RGB, Logical, Spatial and the new 3D Keyer.
- Match Paste” function, which helps by intelligently copying corrections and multi-layer effects from previously designed shots onto similar or duplicate shots elsewhere in the assembly.
- Auto Conform” system, to facilitate reconforming in the event of, for example, a change in editing or mixing of RAW formats.
- Single user login system to maintain personal settings, keyboard shortcuts and configurations in a multi-user system.
SGO has announced that in an upcoming press release they will reveal details of the virtual reality capabilities. In addition, during NAB they will be together with Canon showing the latest advances in UHD technology.
