Japanese manufacturer Sharp Sharphas announced its new 33 million pixel Super 35 CMOS 60p 8K camcorder, the 8C-B60A.
Among its main features:
- It is the first camcorder to integrate video recording and recording, playback and line-out options for 8K.
- It has a Super 35mm CMOS sensor that allows recording at 8K (60p).
- It allows 4:2:2 subsampling, in 6-bit and 10-bit image recording at 8K (60p). It therefore performs a type of compression that does not overload the CPU and allows continuous recording for 40 minutes.
- Real-time output for uncompressed 8K (60p) images, which can also be recorded at the same time. In this way, it allows live broadcasts as well as subsequent playback of the recorded content.
- It also incorporates a rear SSD slot.
In terms of other features, this camera uses the Grass Valley HQX codec and is PL-mount.
