Good news for the “maqueros”. Apple launches a new update for its iMacs that substantially improves its products for those who need a high-end all-in-one.
The new iMac 2019 offers a pretty decent jump in hardware power because, almost immediately after the iMac 2017 was released, backed by a 7th generation Intel Kaby Lake processor, Intel announced the new 8th generation Coffee Lake chip which have already been replaced now by the 9th generation Coffee Lake chips.
The iMacs needed a good upgrade and the good news is that Apple has done just that, announcing a refreshed 2019 iMac that looks nothing like previous iMacs, but with new 8th and 9th generation Intel processors.
Upgrades
Specifically, the 21.5-inch iMac moves to an 8th generation quad-core. These are 6-core processors, with 60% faster performance.
The ninth-generation 27-inch iMac now has a 6-core or 8-core processor with a 2.4x speed increase.
Graphics are also greatly improved with the arrival of AMD Radeon Pro graphics. The 21.5-inch iMac receives an 80% graphics boost and the 27-inch iMac is 50% faster.
