Simultaneous 4K XAVC and HD recording on the Sony F55

The Sony F55 camera has the ability to record 4K footage, using the XAVC codec, while simultaneously recording in HD. This feature can be very useful if we want to use the MPEG 2 files in HD for editing, treating them as proxies, and then conforming to 4K for final finishing.

However, there are some important issues to keep in mind if we want to use this recording mode. For example, we will only be able to work with speeds below 30fps (which, on the other hand, are the most common) and our videos in full resolution and proxies will have the same gamma curve (like S-Log2).

Do you want to know how to use this in-camera recording and post-production mode step by step? You can do it by visiting the social network Red709, where you will find the complete tutorial in the “Written tutorials” section and the “Photography and Image” category (published by Elena Humanes).

In addition, we remind you that on October 19 we have prepared a course on Sony F5 and F55 cameras. Here you have all the information about the contents and how to sign up.
