Small HD adds new Indie 7 monitor to its Smart 7 product range

The new monitor Small HD Indie 7 enters as a new product in Creative Solutions‘ Smart 7 range. It is not only a display monitor, but also a camera remote control.

This 7-inch monitor has a maximum brightness of 1000 nits for daylight shooting. It has a touch screen through which we can access the control of camera settings and a series of assistance tools when operating the camera as focus assist or exposure assist thanks to the PageOS 4 software.

PageOS 4 software is one of the industry standard, being customizable by each user. We can customize the interface to our needs by creating customized user pages. In these user pages you can add support tools such as customizable frame guides, 3D LUT or Teradek RT overlays, among those already mentioned above and more.

With various camera control software upgrades and licenses (sold separately), the Small HD Indie 7 monitor can become “the central operations center for your camera,” according to the developers. Camera Control upgrades allow access to control certain functions of RED KOMODO and DSMC2 cameras. Among the functions that go into remote control via Indie 7 are the ability to control recording with rec and stop, adjust shutter speed, as well as ISO, color temperature, white balance, and more. We can also have access to the filmed clips and play them back from the monitor itself.

It allows working in wireless mode with additional hardware that makes it compatible with Bolt RX. This allows us to receive 4K and HDR video from any Bolt 4K transmitter without the need for cable connection at a distance of 228m.

The Indie 7 features 10-bit color processing in 100% Rec 709, has a 160-degree viewing angle, and the connectors are 3G-SDI input, HDMI 2.0 (both with output as well) and USB.

The Small HD Indie 7 monitor costs $899 with the most basic option, the price increases depending on the upgrades and additional licenses that we want to include.
