SmallHD introduces Cine 7 monitor with built-in Teradek Bolt technology

SmallHD has announced the new range of Cine 7 monitors, with 1080p display and 1,800 nits daylight viewable offering 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut.

The Cine 7 not only has a good display, but also allows us to directly control many cinema cameras. Already at launch, the monitor will be able to control ARRI Alexa Mini, AMIRA and Mini LF with an optional license ($500), and support for RED and Sony will come later.

Normally, when using the ARRI Alexa Mini or AMIRA, we control the camera through the EVF. With Cine 7, adjustments can easily be made from the monitor, especially when the camera is mounted on a Steadicam or in any other configuration.

The camera control menu appears overlaid on the video stream once assigned to a page. Each page gives the user quick access to different tools (framing, exposure, focus, etc.). Operators can move from page to page via the touch screen interface.

The Cine 7 has an Ethernet port that is used to communicate with a compatible camera.

The Cine 7 has dual 3G SDI inputs, as well as an HDMI input and loop-through output. Power is delivered via a locking two-pin power connector (10-34V DC, 2A in) or a battery mount for Sony NP-F style batteries. Gold Mount and V-Mount battery plates are also available separately.

Recently, SmallHD and Teradek announced the new version of the Teradek RT real-time lens data overlays, which displayed focal length, focal distance, iris, zoom and more data on the screen. This is also found on the new Cine 7 monitors.

The Cine 7 is available in four different varieties, including three wireless models with built-in Teradek Bolt technology.
