From Autodesk we get two new tutorials on the latest version of Smoke (2013), which you can read about here.
In the first video, called Desktop Tools, we are shown how we can modify clips without adding them previously to a sequence, from the Tools window. For example, you can freeze a frame or set certain images as “background”, “foreground”, or “matte”. At the end of the tutorial, the Connect FX nodal compositing tool is also introduced.
This second tutorial is an introduction to the Paint tool (outside Connect FX). It explains the interface and how to work with it through its functions.
In addition, a second beta version is now available for download here, until December 31.
