Sony returns to the Camerimage festival in Bydgoszcz (Poland) to show us the latest news about its Venice full-frame camera, including the new sensor extension system. The Venice model is one of Sony’s Netflix-approved cameras, along with the PXW-FS7M2 or the PMW-F55. Camerimage 2018 attendees will also be able to participate in a hands-on CineAlta workshop with cinematographer Todd Bell.
At Camerimage, filmmakers will also be able to learn more about the V2.0 firmware update, including new imaging modes and dual base ISO (500/2500), which provides increased low-light performance and greater dynamic range. The V3.0 firmware will further increase Venice’s flexibility with a wide variety of additional imaging modes, more uncompressed recording capabilities with anamorphic lenses (1.25x, 1.3x, 1.5x and 1.8x) and wireless remote control capability. This is scheduled for February 2019
“All of our tools have been designed and developed to drive the creative vision of cinematographers and filmmakers, helping them to capture the emotions of every frame in their work. We look forward to the Camerimage festival so we can talk about the processes of developing VENICE and the other cameras in the CineAlta range to give filmmakers the creative freedom they need to bring their ideas to life.”
Sebastian Leske, Head of Film Product Marketing, Sony Solutions Europe
On the other hand, the recently introduced 31-inch BVM-HX310 4K reference monitor BVM-HX310 will be on display, along with the PXW-FS7 II and PXW-FS5 camcorders, and the A7III mirrorless camera.
