Sony announces its new CFast 2.0 memory cards

Sony has announced the launch of a series of high-performance CFast 2.0 memory cards designed to meet the needs of photographers and other professionals in the audiovisual sector.

Romain Rousseau, senior European product manager, said, “The new CFast models strengthen Sony’s position as a professional leader in memory issues, enhancing the recording experience and optimizing workflows.”

The new G-Series CFast comes in response to the increased high-performance capabilities of both the new high-end DSLR cameras as well as 4K cinema cameras, offering write speeds of up to 510MB/s and read speeds of 530MB/s.

Among the features of these new CFast memory cards, they support high-speed RAW shooting. In addition, these cards are sharable with VPG130 for high bitrate 4K recording.

This new G series CFast 2.0 will be available with both 32GB capacity, 64GB, as well as 128GB. While the exact date or price is not yet known, it is estimated that they will go on sale in the first months of 2018.
