This time we’re talking about Sony to introduce their new Airpeak drone model, which aims to become the world’s smallest drone capable of carrying an Alpha series mirrorless camera. With this future introduction, Sony makes clear its interest in aiding content creation, offering new possibilities, and taking drones to another level.
What has been seen so far is a promotional video at the CES in Las Vegas where they present the model and the possibilities of this new format. For some time, Sony has been researching in the field of artificial intelligence and robotics so that, combined, infinite levels in the creative field can be achieved with unprecedented freedom using imaging technology, sensing, and AI Robotics.
Sony states that it is a project with which they intend to support video creativity but also the development of the entertainment industry, its efficiency, and contribute to industry savings. “Airpeak will also promote this project to enable the use of drones with the highest level of safety and reliability in environments where this has been difficult in the past.”
It will be a small drone, but considering that it can be equipped with an Alpha camera, we’re not talking about a lightweight drone. What is known so far is that it will allow for stable and precise flights with the image quality offered by a mirrorless sensor.
At the moment, we don’t know the release date or price, but we will share the information as soon as it’s available.
