Sony introduces its new AXS cards

With an eye on NAB, Sony has just unveiled its new AXS series of cards for RAW recording in the F5 and F55 cameras.

This line (“A-Series”) improves on the performance of its predecessors, the original 512 GB AXS (AXS-512S24), and has been reduced in size to be the same size as the SxS cards.

Thanks to an adapter, they will be able to work with the AXS-R5 recorder, designed for recording material from the F5, F55 and FS700, and the AXS-CR1 USB 3 card reader.

The next generation AXS are fast enough to record in 4K resolution up to 60p or in 2K up to 240p, with a write speed of 2.4 Gbps.

Two models, a 512 GB (AXS-A512S24) and a 1TB (AXS-A1TS24) model for those who need longer recording times, are expected to be released very soon. With this launch, the original 512 GB cards are discontinued.
