Last week Sony introduced its latest model in the Alpha range, the Sony A7R IV and now introduces the new Sony RX100Mk VII with a new sensor.
The Sony RX range is a range of cameras with an enlarged 1-inch CMOS sensor with 20.1MP resolution. This coupled with the BOINZ X processor makes it a really fast camera.
The Sony RX100 Mk VII comes with a zeiss 24-200mm zoom lens. The quality of the optics at all focal lengths offers sharp image quality with the added value of having a telephoto lens in a pocket camera. The wide optical range makes it a perfect camera to carry around and achieve a wide variety of framing. It’s like having two telephoto lenses, as it covers 24-70 and 70-200mm. The lens composition with 4 aspherical lenses and 2 ultra-low dispersion glass elements results in high quality images without edge distortion.
The autofocus functionality has been improved to cover 68% of the image thanks to 782 autofocus points. Of these 782 AF points, 357 of them have focal plane phase detection and 425 contrast detection. The most significant feature is its autofocus speed. It takes just 0.02 seconds to focus, making it the fastest camera in the world. It also features Sony’s Eye AF function for real-time tracking of moving subjects.
For such a compact camera, it allows 4K recording internally. HDR technology also comes to the Sony RX100 VII, as through a USB you can enjoy HDR images on an external TV. For video recording they have included an input for connecting an external microphone, they have improved the steadyshot function and have included their S-Log 2 and S-Log-3 logarithmic curves.
You can now check all the features of the new RX100 VII on Sony’s website.
