Sony presents prototypes of its new high-resolution microphones

The company Sony has presented at the AES, which took place in New York City, the prototypes of three new Hi-Resolution microphones, the Sony C-100, the EMC-100U and the EMC-100N.

These are three devices designed to respond to frequencies above 50kHz, which makes them ideal microphones for capturing audio recordings at high resolution. Especially for mixing and mastering processes, making sense to make recordings above 50kHz as these devices offer.

Regarding the microphones in question, there are two devices for recording instruments on the one hand, and human voices on the other.

The Sony C-100 is a microphone with bidirectional structure designed for voice pickup. It has a metal body, inherited from the Sony C-800G to eliminate acoustic vibration.

On the other hand, we find a unidirectional microphone, the EMC-100U; and the EMC-100N, omnidirectional. Both, as mentioned above, are intended for instrument recording.

These three devices have a frequency response between 20Hz to 50kHz, with low-cut filters and a -10db pad for signal attenuation.
