Sony has announced a new addition to the RX series. It is the new RX10 Mk IV.
Among its features, this device has an Exmor RS 1.0 type CMOS sensor and 20 megapixels.
It is also waterproof and has an LCD touch screen, the first in its line to have one.
In terms of weight, it is a lightweight camera weighing just 110 grams.
The RX10 Mark IV is the successor of the RX 10 Mark III, with which it shares the main features. However, one of the aspects where emphasis has been placed on its improvement over its predecessor is the autofocus, with a focus speed of 0.03 seconds and 315 focus points. It also has a stabilized 24-600 mm f2.4-4 zoom.
In Sony’s words, “responsiveness, accuracy and range have been increased to give you firmer, more precise focus control of your subject, no matter how fast the action unfolds.”
Other features that have been talked about are its much faster sensor, capable of making UHD videos without pixel binning.
In addition, in HD mode the camera can capture slow motion at 100fps or in reduced resolution at 960p. The recording codec used is the company’s own developed XAVC-S codec.
This camera will be available from next October for a price of $1,699 through any Sony dealer, or even through the official website of the company, through this link.
