Sorenson Squeeze 11 Pro

This week Sorenson Media released version 11 of its video and audio encoding software, Sorenson Squeeze.

This update comes with several improvements for the already supported formats, extended codec support and new options. The new features are:

• Enhanced 4K exports, with 64-bit processing.

• Updated support for x264, H.264, VP9 and HEVC/x.265 codecs.

• XDCAM OP1a (MXF) support.

• Import of image sequences in JPG and TIFF.

• Multitrack audio support.

• Ability to overlay text as a watermark.

The company has also issued a warning to its users; although experts recommend uninstalling QuickTime on Windows due to the security flaws it is giving, this software is required for the Windows version of Squeeze, as this is what it relies on to read the ProRes, DNxHR/HD and QuickTime animation codecs. Both Sorenson Media and Apple have said that they are looking for a solution to this problem.

Squeeze 11 is now available for $749. In addition, there is an extra plugin called Dolby AC3 Plus Pro, for $99. In this link you have all the information available.
