Telestream releases Episode 6.5 version 6.5

Telestream has just announced version 6.5 of Episode, its software for multi-format encoding.

This update, shown during NAB, comes with the following new features:

  • More formats added: such as HEVC, XAVC, VP9 and MXF AS-11.
  • Support for image sequences: available directly from the user interface.
  • Multi-track audio support: thanks to the presets and filters included in this version, you can easily map multi-track audio channels. In addition, it is also possible to reassign tracks, change speaker assignments, audio formats or samples.
  • Support for multi-bitrate streaming: which allows encoding and creating packages for Apple HLD, Microsoft Smooth Streaming and MPEG-DASH.
  • Subtitle support: supports CEA-608 and CEA-708 standards, as well as MCC and SCC formats. This makes embedding subtitles according to established standards much easier for post-production workflows.

Version 6.5 is now available (it is a paid upgrade) in three different versions, varying in encoding speed and format flexibility. They are Episode ($594), Episode Pro ($1,194) and Episode Engine ($5,994) and all of them work on Mac and Windows. Another difference between the different versions is the ability to perform simultaneous tasks, being possible two in Episode Pro and an unlimited number of parallel jobs in Episode Engine.
