The Association of Audiovisual Editors of Spain, AMAE, is born.

Last Saturday was legally formalized the creation of the Association of Audiovisual Editors of Spain, AMAE. The event took place at the Filmoteca Española and there the first board of directors and the first statutes were decided.

It has been a year of hard work to put together the ideas, statutes and regulations that, through the different working groups, have been put on the table. All these statutes will be collected in what will be the internal regulations of the AMAE. With an audience of 200 professionals present in the room and many others connected from home, the main members of the working groups explained what had been progressing so far. In order to get a more realistic idea of what the sector thinks and how it is doing, they have been collecting over the last year the opinions of workers through various surveys.

One of the important points to be discussed was the creation of the board of directors, composed of a president, two vice presidents, a treasurer and five members. These figures will be in charge of carrying out from now on the activities and plans proposed during the meeting. Among them, to give visibility to the Association in film, television and advertising festivals. To reach more people through training courses on software and the role of editors in the industry.

The legal department will be in charge of establishing a salary table to regularize the market and help the Association’s members.

There will be two different modalities to become a member: Members who have been in the sector for more than three years, and another for students. The membership fees are 120 euros and 60 euros respectively.
