The Foundry has launched at NAB the new versions of its Nuke, NukeX, Hiero and HieroPlayer systems, all of which are now available for download.
Nuke and NukeX
The 7.0v6 update comes with a new tool for NukeX called “Assist”. It allows everyday tasks performed in this compositing system, such as “paint”, “roto”, “2D tracking” and “planar tracking”, to be shared among a group of users at no additional cost. To do so, it provides access to a selected set of Nuke nodes.
This functionality is now available as two additional licenses for each NukeX license (with current maintenance).
Hiero and HieroPlayer
Version 1.7 of these VFX management, conforming and review systems from The Foundry has also just been released.
This update includes important required performance and workflow improvements, speeding up users’ day-to-day work.
The new viewer has a two-part (source/record) design that provides a more familiar feel. It offers the ability to insert or overwrite clips directly from the source to the timeline, using the familiar three-point editing technique.
Overall performance has also been improved thanks to manual or automatic options for clearing and pausing the cache.
New tools for editing have also been added, with functions such as clip and track selection, different types of trims, the blade, etc. In addition, new keyboard shortcuts familiar to those coming from editing are included.
In this video you can see these new tools:
New audio features (stereo bounce down) and support for latency adjustment ensure that you are seeing and hearing perfectly aligned audio on playback and export.
Other enhancements include improved consistency with Nuke, Phyton API and better color handling with .R3D and ARRIRAW files.
