The new APEX 15 notebook from XMG

XMG already has a new laptop, the APEX 15. XMG’s new laptop is based on Ryzen, a bet in this market with so many options. For the first time AMD includes these processors in a notebook. Until now they were only included in desktop computers.

The computer can be equipped according to one’s needs and budget. As the simplest option, it can be equipped with a Ryzen 5 3600 or 7 3700X processor. If you are looking for more power, the Ryzen 9 3900X and 3950X processors are the most suitable for you.

If you decide on Ryzen 9 processors, they must work in ECO mode, as all processors, regardless of the model, are limited to 65 W. Despite reducing power, impressive levels of performanceare achieved. Perhaps the CPU demands with a Ryzen 9 mean that the batterydoes fall a bit short, being 62 Wh.

APEX 15 models feature an NVIDIA RTX 2060, or 2070 graphics card, 64 GB of DDR4 3200 RAM. Although it does not support PCIe 4.0, it does allow a motherboard with PCIe 3.0 SSD support. It also supports SATA 3 and can be expanded up to 6 TB of storage via 2.5-inch HDD.

It is a 15.6-inch laptop that features a FULL HD IPS monitor and 144Hz refresh rate to meet the needs of those who need great performance and for demanding gamers.

It also has a gigabit ethernet port, among its numerous connection ports. Among them, it has USB 2.0, 3.2 Gen 2, USB Type-C and Display Port 1.4 and HDMI outputs for video.

The new XMG APEX 15 models are scheduled for late April and May 2020, depending on the model chosen. They also vary in price depending on the configuration, ranging from €1,337 to €2,991, plus an extra €1.00 if you want to add a second M.2 SSD.
