The new insta 360 One R action camera

Insta 360 has teamed up with Leica to bring to market the new moldable, interchangeable-lens action camera Insta 360 One R. The action camera manufacturers wanted to give a twist to their previous models, which also shared some of the features of the One R, but the fact of having the quality provided by Leica, is already an advantage.

The insta 360 One R can be mounted in different ways to suit the type of video we are going to make, 360 or standard single lens. At the moment we know of 3 shooting modes: the dual lens 360 Mod, the 4K wide-angle Mod and the 1-inch wide-angle Mod. We can then have an action-ready single-lens camera with 5.3k resolution and a wide-angle Leica lens. This is taking action cameras to new heights, according to their manufacturers.

Insta 360, which was already known in the market for its other 360 camera models, for example, maintains its technology in these new models. Among them is the FlowState image stabilization system, a trademark of the company that has already been extended to many models and is available both in the 360 option and in the single-lens action camera.

In addition to these new features, the camera can record in 4K at 60 frames per second, or 1080 at 120 fps. It also lets you take photos with 3, 5, 7 or 9 different exposuresthanks to the new Auto Exposure Bracketing (AEB) mode. It also has applications for instant retouching and video editing.

Compared to lego pieces, it is a camera that already the previous model allowed to adapt it to different situations, but Insta360 goes further and now wants to explore the drone world. What Insta360 proposes is an adapter to mount the camera on the drone and have a clean 360 image without the drone being an obstacle. It is something typical of this brand, always trying to develop new technologies and inventions, and we will have to see how this new system works.

It goes on sale with different options, but the one-inch Insta 360 One R has a starting price of 599.99 euros, to which you would have to add the additional “mods”, in case you want them to form a 360 camera.
