The new Nikon Z5 with entry-level full-frame mirrorless

Nikon announces the launch of its new camera Nikon Z5 with which it intends to revolutionize the full-frame mirrorless camera market. Its features and price make it one of the cheapest options on the market to get started in the world of mirrorless and full frame.

the Nikon Z5 is preceded by the Nikon Z6 and ZZ7. Nikon Z6 and ZZ7the other full frame mirrorless cameras of the Japanese brand and shares with them some of the features, but changing some aspects. They share the same image processor, an Expeed 6 chip, but not the sensor. The Nikon Z5 has a 24.3-megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor. All three cameras feature wind and water protection, although the Z5 has a polycarbonate-coated metal body. They are rugged cameras that share the same ergonomics but modified slightly to make the photographer’s job easier and more intuitive.

For video recording, the Nikon Z5 allows recording 4K UHD images at 30 frames per second and in Full HD at up to 60 fps. For the first option it creates a 1.7x crop from the center of the image, as opposed to Full HD recording which uses the full frame. Images have a color depth of 8 bits. In photography it can reach 14 bits and capture images in NEF format of 6010×4016 pixels.

It features a 231-point phase detection autofocus system and allows still images to be captured while recording. It can record directly to the card (it has 2 SD slots) or to an external storage via HDMI output, being compatible with SD, SDHC and SDXC UHS-II. It allows remote operation via cell phone with Bluetooth and Wi-fi.

It is scheduled for release in August and is priced at $1,399 for the body only and you can add two different lenses, the 24-500mm and the 24-200mm.
