Lately we have been talking a lot about the new monitors that brands have launched for content creators, but almost all of them focused on desktop work. This time we present the new CAME-TV 4K monitor designed primarily for filming and on-set work.
The CAM-TV 4K is a 17-inch monitor that comes integrated into a portable case and protected so that it does not suffer so much during transport. Another advantage of the case that covers the monitor is that it has a V-Lock anchor. This is an advantage when it comes to mount it on a tripod without the need to carry a table, or to have more options when it comes to placing it on the set itself.
Another debate that opened up at the end of 2019 is the workflow in productions that are going to be output in HDR. Thinking about a workflow where HDR is taken into account when shooting, the CAME-TV 4K monitor supports HDR. It has more limitations than other monitors we saw last year, but it has a maximum brightness of 400 nits and 1000:1 contrast. It features professional color calibration and accepts 1.8, 2.0, 2.2 and 2.4 color gammas.
Another detail that the manufacturers point out is the inputs and outputs of the monitor. In this case, it has 4 HDMI and 2 3G-SDI inputs that allow monitoring from 720 to 4096 x 2160 at 50 and 24 fps. It also has HDMI and 3G-SDI outputs, but in this case is reduced to a single output of each.
Although it is not considered among the high-end monitors, it is a good option to have control of the signal we are recording. The fact that it is compatible with HDR also gives it an extra point, especially now that more and more productions are being made for this purpose.
Now available from the website of CAME-TV and is priced at $999.
