The new Phantom VEO 1310

The new Phantom VEO 1310 camera arrives to record in slow motion like never before. The new Phantom, unlike its previous models, has higher frames per second but in exchange the resolution is reduced so it is likely to have more output at industrial level than at film level.

We are talking about a camera capable of recording at 10,800 frames per second, ultra slow cameras can be achieved with the new Phantom models. It comes with two available formats, the L and S, which correspond to the Light and Full format, respectively, so the brand can service all kinds of needs.

We have said that the resolution has been reduced by being able to record 1280×960 images however it becomes the most light sensitive high speed camera. The higher light sensitivity is a consequence of the type of sensor that has been used in its design. It is a full size 1 megapixel 35mm CMOS sensor that allows more light to be captured due to its larger pixels. The fact of having larger pixels not only affects the higher sensitivity, it also gives the images greater depth of field, widens the field of view of the optics and makes it a body compatible with 35mm lenses. In other words, we could use 35mm lenses from major manufacturers such as Nikon or Canon in the body of a Phantom.

To offer more variety in the use of different lenses, the manufacturers have opted for interchangeable lens mounts for Nikon, C, PL and Canon EF. The connection system with the camera maintains the lens automatisms to make it easier to operate the camera in all circumstances.

As for the connections available on the body, the Phantom VEO 1310 features SDI and HDMI inputs, as well as 10Gb ethernet connection. The design remains the same as the previous models and is a sealed aluminum body resistant to dust and sand.
