Tamron launches its new lens Tamron 28-200mm f / 2.8-5.6 Di III RXD for Sony cameras with E-mount. It is a full-frame lens with variable focal length and an aperture of F2.8, very bright for what is usually this type of optics and that has earned it to position itself as the first all-terrain lens capable of reaching this aperture in a telephoto lens.
Tamron is a brand known for its lenses and has used its experience over the past 28 years to develop this new lens and bring together all in one high performance. For the high optical performance of the 28-200mm f/2.8-5.6 Di III RXD, Tamron has employed 18 special lens elements organized into 14 groups. Some of these elements have been added to eliminate chromatic aberrations such as low dispersion (LD) and extra low dispersion (XLD). Image quality is maintained from one end of the telephoto lens to the other, with 0.19m minimum focal length at the widest angle and 0.8m at the telephoto end.
For the autofocus mode Tamron has opted for the RXD motor that allows to obtain results with great precision in a very fast way. It is able to detect the position of the lens so that the motor acts as quickly as possible to maintain focus on moving objects in both video and photography.
The lens is designed with a fluorine coating that makes it resistant to moisture. This coupled with its compact and lightweight design, Tamron highlights the portability of the lens, making it a perfect choice for travel. It weighs 575 grams and has a length of 117mm. For filters it has a diameter of 67mm. And it is compatible with Sony E-mount cameras, including the alpha range, FX9 and Venice.
The market launch date is scheduled for June 25, although it may be modified and the price is still unknown.
