The new Trimaster monitors from Sony

Sony will present its new line of Trimaster 4K HDR monitors with faithful and accurate color representation. The presentation will take place at the BSC Expo in London later this month and we will be able to see the 24-inch and 18.4-inch models.

The two monitors, the 24″ and 18.4″ PVM-X2400 and PVM-X1800 respectively, stand out for their color rendering and high image quality. In addition, they have a maximum brightness of 1000 candelas per m2. Sony, which is already a benchmark in high quality image reproduction, wants to give its users the option of two new monitors, which can be compared with what is today a leader, the Sony BVM-HX310 also Trimaster.

Some time ago we talked about the discussion that was launched in the audiovisual world about the need to work HDR from shooting, well, it seems that brands increasingly tend to support this workflow, such as Sony. These are two monitors small enough to work with them in shooting and that filmmakers can be sure that what they are seeing is correct, especially if we talk about HDR workflows.

HDR monitors are usually backlit, and in this case Sony has added a 3-level Black Detail setting. In order to reproduce colors in the best conditions, Black Detail can be set to high, medium or low to reduce brightness or increase gradation in darker areas. Sony has also incorporated automation of the backlight level so that the monitor adjusts the brightness for each shooting scenario to achieve the best viewing result.

PVM Trimaster monitors support 12G-SDI, 3G-SDI and one HD-SDI for one device as input.

There is less and less time left to enjoy these two great monitors from Sony and we will keep you updated on the latest HDR monitors coming to the market.
