The new Zhiyun Crane 3S

Zhiyun returns to the market with the new Crane 3S stabilizer. As its manufacturers say, it is not just an update of the previous model, but a reconstruction as the new model is intended for more ambitious productions. Its new modular structure allows setting up different recording configurations as well as a wider range of cameras.

Zhiyun could already boast of its advanced stabilization system with the motors used, and has managed to outdo itself with the new update. For the Crane 3S, SUPER motors have been used, which tell us a lot from the name alone. These are partly to blame for the fact that the Crane 3S aspires to use heavier cameras, extending the load to 6.5 kilograms. Thus cameras such as the Sony FX9, RED, Canon C300, could be mounted on the Crane 3S. The swing axis has also been extended to 55 degrees for the same purpose of mounting larger combos.

Being compatible with larger cameras, they have incorporated an extendable arm to give more room for these types of cameras, while giving more mobility to smaller DSLR type cameras. The grip is also modular and comes with two options: TransMount EasySling Handle and TransMount SmartSling Handle. The former is useful when making vertical movements, while the latter allows us to control and adjust the image via the OLED screen. They are not incompatible with each other, so they can be combined.

The Zhiyun Crane 3S can also be mounted on other structures thanks to its cross-compatibility, which allows the handle to be adjusted to different types of threads for mounting on an easyrig, jib, etc…

In addition to the assured stability, 3 locking systems have also been added to definitively cancel any swaying that may occur. The ability to transmit live images through TransMount has been maintained. With this system we can visualize the images on up to three devices while remotely operating the stabilizer.

The new Zhiyun Crane 3S is now available on the market for $649.
