In early September, the Japanese company Sigma announced at IBC its entry into the digital cinematography market with the new line of Sigma Cine lenses.
This collection, divided into three groups of lenses, has been developed with film production in mind, so the optics have been created with the aim of adapting to today’s cameras and being able to resolve resolutions up to 8K.
Now, the company has unveiled the release date of the first group of lenses, the “High Speed Zoom Line“. This subset features the 18-35mm T2 and 50-100mm T2 zoom lenses.
Both have Canon EF and Sony E mounts, cover Super35 sensors, 6K-8K resolutions and have a minimum focusing distance of 28 cm and 95 cm (respectively).
The price will be $3,999 each.
It is expected that from 2017 we will also see lenses belonging to the “FF Zoom Line” and “FF High Speed Prime Line” series, as well as the possibility of PL mount.
