Sony Ci, a Sony Media Cloud Services platform for cloud-based video production and storage, is now available.
Following the announcement of its debut in Europe just over a month ago and its presentation at IBC, we can now try out for ourselves this platform that allows you to upload content, preview and share with clients and colleagues anywhere in the world.
Sony Ci works with so-called “Workspaces”, or workspaces. They can be personal or team workspaces where projects are created, collected, developed and finalized.
Apart from this, it has applications such as CiRoughCut, for easy editing of multiple clips through a browser, or ReviewAppove, for multiple clip review, audio synchronization or annotations.
Another advantage is the wireless connectivity available with Sony’s full range of professional camcorders, using the wireless adapter to store camera footage and easily transmit via 3G, 4G, LTE or Wi-Fi.
The free version comes with 5GB and can be downloaded from this link. A variety of subscriptions are offered ranging from €19 per month (per user and with 100GB) to customized packages to suit all types of people and productions.
For a while there will be unlimited work sessions, but this is not definitive.
