“The Valencian audiovisual sector must break the classical structures of production”.

Last May, the Valencian Audiovisual Cluster (CAV) organized a conference for its associates led by Rafael Linares Palomar, PhD in Information Sciences at the Rey Juan Carlos University in Madrid and a specialist in the use of marketing in the Spanish film industry.

Linares assured that “the Valencian audiovisual sector is in a moment where it must break with the classic production structures that it has applied until now. New business models are emerging to approach, new financing possibilities and a recycling of artistic teams with a lot of talent and creativity that counteracts the precarious economic situation in which we find ourselves. There are a series of incredible natural resources in the community that have not been exploited in pre-production, filming and, above all, in new distribution channels, which can allow it to approach local audiences eager to know different things”.

The companies present were Indigo Media, Taranná Films, TVOn, Candil Producciones, Intermedia Agency, BSV Videoreport, Ciudad de la Luz, RTVV, Naranja Producciones, Visual On Producciones, IVAC, The PlayRoom, Malvarrosa Media. The professor pointed out that there was a “special interest in all topics related to online communication, web 2.0 strategies and the new audiovisual trend, known as transmedia products, which can open new markets for the Valencian industry”.
For his part, CAV president Vicente Muñoz assured that the objectives had been met. “The attendees have been provided with the necessary knowledge to carry out a more adequate work and to be able to apply promotion and communication techniques to the audiovisual work”. Muñoz anticipated that, probably, “the last quarter of this year there will be other sessions specifically focused on web promotion, which is one of the topics that have aroused more interest in this conference”.
