PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE: Familiarity with a video post-production program, either an NLE (Final Cut, Media Composer, Premiere) or compositor (Motion, After Effects, Photoshop).
GENERAL OBJECTIVES:
- Taking a giant step towards transforming the learner into an advanced digital video nerd
- Detailed review of the different codecs commonly used in post production (and their practical use).
- To lay the groundwork for monitoring and understanding the video signal, as well as to teach practical applications where it is useful to know all that “extraneous” data.
- Provide a better understanding of how the application the student is already working with on a daily basis works internally.
- Understand the phases and tools commonly used in post-production.

- Comparison and review of the 15 most widespread video formats (ProRes, DNxHD, DPX, MPEG 2, MP4, DVCPRO HD, H264, Animation, Cineform, Uncompressed 422 and 444, AVCHD, MJPEG, FLV).
- Tracking of video phases from capture, post-production, mastering and distribution
- Tools to transform the signal: compressions, enlargement or reduction of size, slow motion, change of color space, reduction of video artifacts, stabilization of shots, etc.
