As of yesterday, Vimeo offers access to a set of annotation tools for both customers and their collaborators to work on their video projects. However, this option is only available for paid accounts.
Users can now generate review pages that can be securely shared to as many collaborators as needed. To add a note, simply click on the particular frame, and it will be added with timecode information.
The marked frame, in addition to the time code, may contain figures and symbols.
The company says that this is the first step, as the intention is that after a series of releases this year, Vimeo will become a workflow solution for video collaboration, and no longer just the distribution platform it is today. They have also said that these features are not experimental or in beta, but rather based on the way they receive feedback from their users.
Depending on the type of account, there are different options:
- Vimeo Pro: review tools, advanced playback customization options and analytics.
- Vimeo Business: Include embedded signage in playback, collect tracks and interact via emails.
