Vimeo supports 360 degrees

A few days ago the online video platform Vimeo has taken a step forward by adding support for 360-degree footage, although it does so several months after its competitor, YouTube, incorporated this feature.

Now, Vimeo users will be able to upload videos with resolutions up to 8K, which can also be in traditional 2D or stereoscopic. Apart from this, the platform supports additional metadata and custom embedded settings.

New options for 360 degrees include a field of view adjustment and a compass to help the viewer orient himself.

The company has announced that they will also offer educational resources and tutorials on 360 technology, ranging from pre-production to editing (although they have not said when this will be).
