Western Digital’s New Hard Drives with 4 TB of Storage

Western Digital announces new 4 TB models for SanDisk, WD Black, and My Passport lines. These new models now provide a solution for people who need large amounts of storage and portability, and to respond to the new market demand that requires greater storage capacities.

Many people use Western Digital external hard drives, and with this new launch, it is expected that regular consumers will find in them the answers that have been demanded both for those who create content and for those who use them to play, move, or store heavy content.

There are 4 new models entering the market. Starting with the SanDisk Extreme Pro model, we highlight the read speed it offers, which is 2000 MB per second. This SSD offers quite high performance and solid resistance, featuring a heat sink and an aluminum chassis that ensure performance always remains high.

The SanDisk Extreme model has slightly less write speed, about 1050 MB per second. This model can be a very good option for managing content quickly and portably. To ensure that the contents do not suffer during transport, it has a drop protection system, which allows it to cushion impacts from 2 meters and is water-resistant.

Moving on to the WD Black model, the 4 TB version will be called WD Black P50 and is mainly designed for the world of video games where speed is paramount. This SSD offers a read speed of up to 2000 MB per second and with the premium storage expansion, we can access our library of computers and game consoles.

We return to a slightly lower read speed of 1050 MB per second with the 4TB My Passport model. This model has a write speed of 1000 MB per second, making it a very good option for working with content creation. Very similar to the SanDisk Extreme with protection against impacts from almost 2 meters high, and in this case, the design is metallic and includes a wide range of available colors.

All 4 models will be available approximately in March, at least the SanDisk models, the other two are expected later and there’s no fixed date yet. What we do know is that they will be priced between $679.99 and approximately $749.
