Sirui launches its 1.33X F1.8 anamorphic 50 mm lens

The anamorphic lens market is booming and now Sirui is introducing their new 1.33X F1.8 50mm anamorphic lens. Its point of distinction in this market compared to another APS-C lens is the increase they have achieved in the horizontal field of view. It is 33% wider, or what amounts to 37.5mm.

In 16:9 format, cinematic images with a 2.4:1 aspect ratio can be achieved. Sirui has opted for German technology for the design of its lenses. It is a Schott optical glass with visual specifications that make it unique, according to its experts. Its composition and design make it possible to achieve ultra-wide aspect ratios in 16:9, oval bokeh effect and horizontal design highlights.

Thanks to this innovative optical structure that includes a Nano multi-layer coating, various visual effects can be achieved in addition to the oval bokeh. These include Sci-Fi backlighting and brushing effects that make it possible to achieve horizontal flashes in the form of bluish streaks, something that would be very difficult to achieve with any other type of lens.

As for the design, it is a robust yet lightweight lens(560 grams) made of aluminum alloy and on the lens side it has 10 aperture blades, the lens structure has a total of 11 optical elements in 8 groups. Focusing in this case is manual and the ring has a rotation angle of 143.6 degrees.

Another great advantage of this lens is its compatibility with the vast majority of cameras on the market today. It is compatible with APS-C cameras, so it is compatible with Fujifilm and its X-mount, E-mount in the case of Sony, Panasonic’s M 4/3, Olympus and the Z Cam.

At the moment the SIRUI 50mm f / 1.8 1.33x anamorphic lens is only available for pre-order via the website and is priced at $699.
