New update for Blackmagic’s URSA Mini Pro 4.6K

Blackmagic releases its new update for the URSA Mini Pro 4.6K with software version 6.9.3. Although Blackmagic has not released an update for this model for some time, the company has chosen to include some improvements including the choice of 3D LUTs for RAW files and customizable frame guide settings.

In 2017 was when the URSA Mini ProO 4.6K was launched and was a novelty in the market by being one of the first accepted by Netflix recording requirements and including some features typical of high-end cameras like the Arri Alexa. Among some of the advantages over the URSA Mini model, was the 4.6K recording, the incorporation of internal neutral density filters and of course, the interchangeable lens mount.

With the BRAW (Blackmagic RAW) file recording option, custom LUTs can now also be added to these BRAW files. 11 different languages have been added for the different localizations. For HDR they have also added metadata output via SDI. For SDI we now also have the option to lock timecode. And they have added enhanced support for embedded audio also via SDI output.

From Blackmagic they also highlight the options of frame guides for different types of resolution and for some customizable ones. Button remapping and on/off options for HFR, side tone level control, VTR and Ret on B4 lenses…. An overall improvement in the user interface.
