Sony introduces the new PXW-FX9

Sony has taken advantage of the IBC to present its new FX9 6K camera with full frame sensor and dual native ISO, as in other previous models of the brand.

Sony has done it again and has surprised attendees by presenting the new XDCAM 6K with full frame sensor. One of the highlights of the presentation was the improvement in the autofocus system to facilitate and improve the creative ability in shooting images, as you can customize the speed of focus change in automatic mode. The Fast Hybrid AF system is based on phase detection with 561 points that account for 94 and 96% of the image to give a more accurate result in the tracking and detection of subjects.

Many are the improvements and innovations implemented in this model, but starting with its sensor, it offers a latitude of more than 15 stops with greater dynamic range and lower noise. It allows to record internally 10-bit 4K images at 4:2:2 color sampling. It will also be possible to record slow motion in Full HD at 120 frames per second.

Designed for all types of productions, it supports XAVC-I, XAVC-L, MPEG HD 422 recording formats and image sizes at 6K, 4K, Full Frame and S35 2K.

Like its Sony Venice teammate, the Sony FX9 features a native dual ISO of 800 and 4000 ISO. Another built-in tool is thevariable electronic ND filters, never before added on a full-frame sensor XDCAM.

The new Sony model also has a 16 bit output, which for example LA FS7 did not include. A completely new model that will revolutionize the market, as Sony has been doing in recent years.
