Tokina has launched the new atx-i 100mm F / 2.8 Macro FF macro lenses, and presents them as more than macro lenses. They are released to meet the needs of full-frame DSLR photography and video. To cover two major DSLR camera market, Tokina has released the same model of optics with two different mounts for Canon and Nikon fans.
The manufacturers emphasize the versatility of the lens, presenting it as more than a rangefinder, as it can cover portrait, nature, commercial and even landscape shots. The quality of the optics is superior to the previous model on which the new atx-i 100mm F / 2.8 Macro FF is based as it has zero field curvature. Images maintain quality throughout the frame, with no distortion at the extremes and no color aberration.
We have discussed the telemachro and it is worth noting the life-size reproduction at 30 centimeters, scale (1:1). You can get great detail in images without losing out-of-focus backgrounds with smooth bokeh. It is a fast lens with an aperture of 2.8 so that images can be captured even in critical light conditions.
The manual and autofocus modes are integrated into the optics so that the focus rotation matches that of the Canon or Nikon brand and they have simplified the switch from manual to auto. They have also incorporated a focus area limiter button on the side so that in auto mode the autofocus search is limited to within or outside the macro range.
In the case of Nikon-mount optics, it also comes with a manual aperture ring for compatibility with older Nikon film cameras that already employed the Ai AF Nikkor D-Type Ai lens standard.
On December 6, the first models will start selling in the United States with a price of $429 and can be purchased directly from Tokina’s website.
