EOS-1D X Mark III, the new camera from Canon

Canon continues to innovate and improve their products, and with this premise, presents its latest model Canon EOS-1D X Mark III with which it intends to revolutionize the DSLR market. The new model and its predecessor are very similar but at the same time very different, as they have incorporated major improvements.

Canon highlights the improvements in the autofocus system, the increase in image quality and its versatility in nature and sports. This model, which has always been designed for photography, includes the option of recording video in RAW. It also allows recording in CRM at 5.5K with 12-bit color depth, making it the first camera capable of recording in RAW without being cinema. Although it is not cinema, it maintains the recording with Canon Log Gamma. Other formats we will be able to work with are H265 at 10 bits and the newest, the High Efficiency Image File Format(HEIF).

The Canon has a new 20.1 megapixel sensor and is responsible for obtaining images with a resolution up to 28 times higher than the previous model. It also has a new processor, the new Digic X, which triples the speed of the previous processor. The increased resolution and the new additional focus points allow photographers to focus with great precision regardless of the circumstances. Much faster when focusing and capable of shooting up to 20 frames per second with Live View mode activated or 16 through the viewfinder.

Continuing with the news, Canon breaks its own limits and increases the ISO range in the new EOS-1D X Mark III. From now on we will be able to use sensitivities from 50 to 819,200 ISO, to be able to work in the most compromised light situations. The new sensor has a low-pass filter that prevents noise in the images, making it easier to work in low-light situations.

The cards used are CF Express cards that allow data transmission up to 3 times faster to avoid bottlenecks, which is essential if we work with RAW internally.

There are many details and new features included in this new model and we could certainly be talking about it several posts, but for now we invite you to discover the rest of the specifications on the website of Canon.
