The new Tamron 20mm F / 2.8 full frame for Sony E mount

The manufacturers of Tamron have just announced the launch of their new Tamron 20mm F / 2.8 full frame lens with compatible mount for Sony E-mount and APS-C cameras, being 30mm in the case of the latter option.

Tamron’ s new wide-angle lens comes out just 2 months after 2 other Tamron releases, but the Tamron 20mm F/2.8 Di III OSD M1:2 stands out for its lightness and precision. It excels at close focusing, achieving a distance of just 11 centimeters. Designed for close-up shooting, the maximum medium magnification is increased to 1:2 to give free rein to creation. We continue talking about focusing and for this the Tamron has an OSD motor for autofocus. It’s quiet, accurate and most importantly, fast, and can be varied with manual focus.

It is a lens with a maximum aperture of 2.8, not extremely bright, but bright enough to work with in adequate light conditions. The diaphragm is made up of 7 plates that contribute to achieve a very smooth bokeh, according to the manufacturers.

Images obtained with the new Tamron 20 mm F/2.8 Di III OSD M1:2 have a more faithful color rendering thanks to the integration of 3 low-dispersion elements that prevent chromatic aberrations.

The lens structure is faithful to the brand’s previous models for mirrorless cameras, with a filter diameter of 67mm. The lens is moisture resistant as it is perfectly sealed and coated with fluorine on the front side that prevents dust from entering.

The Tamron 20mm F/2.8 Di III OSD M1:2 will be available from January 30 and will be priced at 460€.
