FireFly Cinema announces v6 of its collection

FireFly Cinema announced a few days ago version 6 of its software suite designed to take files from the film set to the final finish. The suite includes FirePlay for playback, FireDay for dailies and FirePost for color correction.

The first thing to mention is that in this update an improved graphical interface has been developed, so that both new and existing users can enjoy a more intuitive software.

FirePlay

FirePlay is a free software for playback and preview on set, capable of handling almost all current camera formats. It is the starting point of the workflow developed by FireFly.

Support for Teradek COLR hardware, FSI monitors, BoxIO devices and the Panasonic VariCam camera has been extended in this release.

FireDay

FireDay is a software designed for the management and realization of dailies. It provides live color correction, synchronization, backup, versioning and rendering.

In this new version FireDay adds support for Teradek COLR, FSI monitors, BoxIO and OMOD devices, as well as support for ACES v1.0.3 and integration with Aspera.

FirePost

FirePost is the color tool. It has functions for primary and secondary corrections, color effects, rendering and team workflows.

In version 6, GLSL shader support is added, as well as the Bit Exact Round roundtrip with the addition of the Pixspan license.

All three systems have the additional option of Live Grading, which allows color corrections to be generated and the result to be viewed live. The color adjustments are automatically sent to an external LUT box, which provides real-time display on a monitor.

Other features added in version 6 include:

  • Support for ALF-2 Arri Look File.
  • Support for R3D SDK 6.2 (8K).
  • ODT (Output Device Transform) customizable in the project.
  • Raw format support for Sony X-OCN.
  • Support for Avid DNxHR codecs.
  • Support for Tangent Ripple controller.

In addition, the export options have been renewed and it is now possible to export directly from the gallery, timeline or pool media.

Finally, this version allows the export of 3D LUTs in most of the formats used.

Remember that FirePlay software is free (you can download it through this link). You can also try FireDay Studio trials(here) or FirePost Studio(here).
