Aputure releases its new VS-5x Monitor

Aputure, a company specializing in the manufacture of video and photography accessories, has released its new VS-5x Monitor.

This is the new member of the VS-5 series, a set of monitors characterized by their low price and intended, in the words of Aputure, and like the rest of the company’s products, “to professionals who want to carry out high quality products, but without the need to face the high costs involved in a production”.

The VS-5x is a 7-inch field monitor, with HDMI and HD-SDI inputs and outputs, the latter being an improvement over the rest of the monitors in whose series it is integrated. Since it allows a cross conversion from SDI to HDMI.

It has a resolution of 1920×1200 and a viewing angle of 160 degrees.

It also incorporates vectorscope, histogram, RGB Parade, false color, focus peaking, zebra and timecode.

The big drawback, however, of this field monitor will come from the LUTs, or rather, the absence of them. Something that makes, perhaps, that it falls short, in times when LUTs are becoming more and more important. But at the same time, something logical, considering the low cost at which it is available.

This VS-5x monitor is now on sale, which you can purchase through Aputure’s official website, for a price of $599.
