Blackmagic releases Ursa Mini 4.6K and DaVinci 12.3.2

Blackmagic Design has just released the Ursa Mini 4.6K and Micro Cinema Camera. Both were introduced during last year’s NAB and now arrive, but without the global shutter features originally announced.

The company has communicated in its press release that they have had to delay the launch for months due to several problems with the global shutter, so now they have decided to release them without this feature.

Still, Blackmagic has released a video showing the potential of the 15 stops of dynamic range that the Ursa Mini 4.6K has, and it is also possible to download the original RAW files from the company’s website.

URSA Mini 4.6K

The Ursa Mini 4.6K is available in EF mount for $4,995 or PL mount for $5,495.

The Micro Cinema Camera is a small 1080p model with a Super 16 sensor and a price of $995.

DaVinci 12.3.2

In addition, Blackmagic Design has also updated its DaVinci Resolve color correction system .

Precisely the most outstanding novelty is that version 12.3.2 adds support for Blackmagic 4.6K color science (used in the Ursa Mini 4.6K). RAW clips from this camera will have by default the BMD Film color space and gamut.

Conversions between this color space and Rec have also been improved. 709.
