The Canon EOS C100 camera is now available with the new Dual-Pixel CMOS AF function. This technology, first introduced on the EOS 70D, enables continuous autofocusing with Canon’s entire line of EF lenses. This provides smoother, more natural focusing automatically, which can come in handy for professionals working on sports, events or documentaries.

In addition, the C100 has three new lens packages that complement the Dual-Pixel CMOS AF.

Canon also recently announced a software update for its EOS C500, the Cinema RAW Development 1.3.

This version is currently in development, but will offer improved workflows for the film set, including playback and confirmation of 4K RAW footage on set.

Thanks to the collaboration with Intel, version 1.3 comes with improved performance through the use of a beta version of the Intel Media SDK 2014 Professional Camera Pack. This enables faster development of 4K RAW data when using a PC equipped with Intel Iris Pro graphics and allows real-time playback at speeds of up to 24fps.

The Cinema RAW Development 1.3 update is scheduled for release starting in October.
