In the latest firmware version released for the F5 and F55 cameras (v4.0), Sony added the ability to load custom 3D LUTs. This allows us to visualize the look we want on set while recording in Raw or Log.
For this reason, and since this has been a very requested feature by users, today I bring you two video tutorials from AbelCine that will explain how to create LUTs and then import them in camera.
Sony Raw Viewer
In the first video you will learn how to do it with Sony’s Raw Viewer software. After generating 1D and 3D LUTs, step by step we will be shown how to save them and how to put them in camera through an SD card.
DaVinci Resolve
For those who prefer Blackmagic’s color correction system, here is another tutorial:
It is important to note that LUTs can be applied to different camera outputs and even “burned” onto the image. With these videos you will also learn some particularities of the process, such as the importance of selecting S-Gamut3.Cine/S-Log 3 to use 3D LUTs.
Don’t forget that in just three days our advanced DaVinci Resolve course begins and in July we will be running our digital cinema camera course.
