As you may know, we recently launched our 709 Downloads section, where every week we post material from the different cameras currently in use so that you can practice at home and do your own tests.
We had not yet passed by one of the essential brands and one of the pioneers in digital cinema: RED. This company has its three cameras One, Scarlet and Epic, differentiating the models Mysterium-X, of 5K, and Dragon, of 6K.
With a 5K sensor, the RED Epic can capture from 1 to 120 fps in full resolution and take full advantage of its 18 stops of dynamic range in HDRx mode. In addition, one of its great advantages is its size, incredibly small and light for a camera of these characteristics (the body weighs less than 2Kg). Thanks to its modular structure, different modules and accessories can be attached to adapt it to each type of production.
If you visit Downloads 709you will see that we have uploaded a RED Epic file in Slow Motion. It is recorded in 2K resolution (2048 x 854), at 300fps and in RAW (r3d). It was recorded during one of our camera courses taught by Rafa Roche and, if you have never seen the effect of exploding a water balloon in slow motion, I strongly recommend you to download it.
